Simple Math to Maintain Your Attitude in a Positive Way
There are things that you are doing everyday that bring you more happiness and satisfaction. Great! Keep doing them. Or in folk wisdom “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.
There are things you are not doing that would not add much to your life. Continue not doing them.
The invitation here is leave the previous categories alone and focus on the next two in order to have your attitude be more positive and worth catching.
Read this book to help your attitude be more positive.
Add something you are not doing that you know would add value, decrease stress and be a great addition for maintaining your attitude very positively. This is the plus one part of the equation. It can be something that you are not doing and want to do or it can be something you are already doing and need to do it more. For this exercise pick something that you can do everyday or at least several times a week.

Your Attitude Positive. -
Now make a commitment to add one of these into your life. Note how often you will do it and write it down so that you can check back. After you have added it for a while report what difference it is making in your life.

Next is the minus one part of the equation. Think about something that you do currently that if you did it less or not at all it would make a great difference in your life. You would be more joyful and less stressed if your let it go or did it less.

Now you want to start with just one thing that you will add and one thing you will subtract. It is important that the list is short, very short, one thing to add and one to subtract. Write down both and

keep track of your progress for three weeks. If it is not yet set as a new habit then renew your commitment and work with it for another three weeks.
Plus one minus one is an effective way to start a new habit or to wean you off of old habits. Three weeks is the amount of time that is recommended for starting a new habit or breaking an old one. That is the general rule yet you can adjust it to your situation. Some things may need a little more time and commitment to release them or add them.
Do simple math and create a life with more passion and purpose. Oh yeah and they will help keep your attitude positive too.
